This tent upgrades to a silicone-treated nylon flysheet. Silicone nylon is significantly stronger per gram than polyester, offering exceptional tear resistance while keeping the overall pack weight down. The silicone impregnation also delivers a silky, hydrophobic surface—rain beads up and rolls off instantly, and the fabric remains supple even in freezing temperatures. It does not suffer from the stiffening or UV degradation that affects standard PU coatings.
The tent uses a separate dark green breathable inner tent with a large mesh door panel. This double-layer construction is crucial: it creates an air gap that prevents condensation from forming inside your sleeping area, while the mesh keeps insects out. The silver-grey flysheet provides excellent UV reflection during hot summer afternoons, keeping the interior cooler than dark-colored tents. You can roll up the fly door for stargazing or close it fully for privacy and wind protection.
